Accounting And Finance With Foundation Year

Our aim is to shape 'confident learners' by enabling you to develop the skills needed to excel in your studies here and as well as onto further studies or the employment market. Applicants should have an interest in the fashion industry and at least one Higher at Grade C or above or a relevant NQ/NC Award with at least 12 units. Applicants will attend an interview and undertake a written exercise to determine their suitability for the course. Relevant industry/life experience or other qualifications will also be considered. We have a dedicated placements team with over three decades of experience sourcing and securing outstanding placement opportunities. They will provide you with extensive support and advice prior to and during your industry placement. This unit introduces students to the fundamental principles and techniques required for the creative exploration of fashion / sportswear design and the associated material and manufacturing technologies.

Entry Requirements

Around 40-50% of our student cohort take part in a one-year full-time industry placement/study abroad with placement annually. As a preferred choice for 12,500 students, including young people, adults and employers, we offer 4000+ courses in a wide range of vocational and academic programmes. These courses range from entry level to degree level and provide learners with the skills that employers are looking for. The nature of business activities can be understood in terms of operations management and this module aims to explore the role and purpose of operations management within an organisation. Students will explore the major principles of operations management and analyse how these principles are applied in different organisations.

This module introduces students to key concepts, literature and debates to investigate relationships between the topics and issues encompassed within the Sustainable Development Goals. All class based teaching takes places between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday during term time. Wednesday afternoons are kept free from timetabled teaching for personal study time and for sports clubs and societies to train, meet and play matches. There may be some occasional learning opportunities that take places outside of these hours for which you will be given forewarning. You will have the opportunity to spend a year on a paid work placement in a business organisation.
